Part of Heidelberg city, "Ziegelhausen" is near the center of town while at the same time lying at the edge of the "Odenwald" which offers beautiful, pastoral countryside for quiet walks or longer hikes.

In just a few minutes time you arrive at Neuburg Abbey with it's famous ivy growth, once a meeting place for Goethe admirers, later the home of the poet, Alexander von Bernus and today once again a Benedictine Abbey. Also reachable within a few minutes is the Textile Museum Max Berk found in the old Lutheran Church with it's historical exhibit, well known for it's constantly changing shows which emphasize the time-proven textile arts.

Ziegelhausen has it's own indoor public swimming pool with sauna, solarium and lawns for relaxing. Also many shopping possibilities are available.

The town is the beginning point of the famous Philosopher's Way with it's beautiful views of Heidelberg Castle. Also beginning here is the mountain bicycle tour, which belongs to the European long distance trail Nr. 1 and also a 36 km circular bicycle tour.
With respect to the above, House Ambiente houses a bicycle cellar.
